TV Broadcast
The 511 TV Broadcast is an automated transportation service for TV which provides regionwide real-time traffic information via government access television stations. Local services are available weekday mornings on CityTV, in the city of San Diego, KOCT for the city of Oceanside, and the County TV Community Access channel.
CityTV can be found on channel 24 — on both Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable — and channel 99 on AT&T service. The 511 broadcast airs on CityTV Monday through Friday, 5 to 8 a.m.
KOCT can be found on channel 19 on Cox Cable. They broadcast 511 Monday through Friday from 5 to 8 a.m.
County TV Community Access is on channels 24 and 124 on Time Warner Cable and channels 19 and 24 on Cox Communications. The 511 service runs every day from 4 to 6 a.m.
The 511 TV Broadcast shows a map of current congestion, accidents, and construction. Live video clips from traffic cameras throughout the region give viewers a real-time look at various highways. Driving times between frequent travel points are also displayed on the broadcast screen.
